Folks Automation and UI Team Up to Build Industrial AI Edge Controller

FOLKSAUTOMATION.COM – DEPOK, 17 AGUSTUS 2025. We are proud to announce a significant milestone for Folks Automation: a strategic research collaboration with the prestigious academic institution, Universitas Indonesia (UI).

This partnership will focus on the joint development of the next-generation “Industrial AI Edge Controller (IAEC).” This is a breakthrough project designed specifically to accelerate the adoption and advancement of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia.

Bridging Industrial Expertise with Academic Excellence

In this project, we will be working closely with an expert research team from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (FTUI). The UI team is led by the distinguished researcher, Mr. Agung Shamsuddin Saragih, S.T., MS-Eng., Ph.D., whose expertise will be a key driver of this innovation.

This strategic collaboration is facilitated through the prestigious 2025 Innovation Funding Program (PPI), managed by the university’s Directorate of Innovation and High-Impact Research.

The Next Step in Industrial Controller Evolution

For Folks Automation, the development of this IAEC represents a strategic evolutionary step. It builds upon the strong foundation we have established with our flagship product, the IoT-PLC FC100-B.

With our proven expertise in IoT-based PLCs—powered by a 64-bit Quad-core CPU, dual connectivity, and an integrated software platform including Codesys, Node-RED, and Grafana—we are poised to take edge computing capabilities to the next level. This new IAEC will integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities directly at the edge, enabling faster, smarter, and more autonomous decision-making on the factory floor.
